La Casa

Things that you might find in our house in La Josfina that you might not find in our house in Santa Rosa:
1) A bat (he only shows his face at night and seems uninterested in us).
2) A few seriously large spiders. I will try to get some pictures with comparison items for your consideration, but take my word for it, they are large.
3)  A suitcase as a dresser (temporary) x2.
4) A Frankenstein-like contraption in the shower to heat the shower water. Ours doesn't work, but due to Paul's ingenuity, I am certain it will soon! Fingers and toes crossed.
5) A blender to make fruit juices (okay, we do have a blender in Santa Rosa but hardly ever use it). This one has already made several delicious fruit juices. My favorite? Naranjilla, but no one else in the family seems to like it. This morning, I made mora (blackberry juice).
6) A hammock on the front porch (a must)
7) A piedra (to wash clothes) in the back. More on that later.
La entrada

Eagerly anticipating English muffins (they didn't come out very good)

The kids' room (pre-Paul design)

The master bedroom :)

La cocina

Not much furniture yet, but poco a poco la hormiga come el coco
As I mentioned above, the English muffins were not delicious, but the kids humored me

This morning, Brynna said, "Mommy, it already feels like home!" This was directly on the heels of some serious homesickness statements and a strong need for goldfish, so take the sentiment with a grain of salt. But, in all truth, Brynna is right. Our little casa in the finca IS starting to feel like home. Next week, the bookcase we ordered from a local carpenter should be ready. Then we can put up some books on the shelves. And our house isn't a house without books.
